The Annunciation is portrayed here using real, actual, genuine, I-kid-you-not pages from a coloring book that I found in a suburban discount store while visiting relatives in wonderful, friendly, open-minded South Carolina.

Okay, I made up all the stuff that the archangel Gabriel says inside the card, but I did NOT make up the fact that A.G. looks like FABIO!  Or that Mary is a dead ringer for Barbie.  

How comforting to know that Mary was a BLOND BABE and Gabriel was a BLOND HUNK, i.e., that they were both ANGLOS. I guess showing Mary (sans fluffy pillow and awesome hair) as an ordinary middle eastern peasant girl lying on a dirt floor next to a bunch of goats and getting visitations from nothing more interesting than the occasional stomach parasite wouldn't have been as much fun to color.
