Men!  Guys!  Fellas!  Boys!  Males! When I was a kid, we used to get the weekly TV listing with the Sunday paper and for some reason, I used to read all the ads, very closely.  It was the same compulsion that makes you read the cereal box in the morning.  I bet there's a word for it in German.  ANYWAY, there was an ad on the back cover of the TV listings that I will never forget.  It was for one of those cheapie jewelry stores, like the ones at the mall where you can get a diamond engagement ring for $399.99 and they offer convenient in-house financing.  Well, this particular ad came out sometime around father's day, which I guess is sometime around graduation time because the ad was for men's jewelry and written at the bottom, in a jaunty italic, was "Great for Dads, Lads and Grads!"  I will never, as long as I live, forget this.  It is embedded in my mind as surely as my mother's maiden name.  I wonder what vital piece of information I'm NOT retaining because I have to make room for dads, lads and grads.  Anyway, the point is that these cards are - yup - Great for Dads, Lads and Grads!
